Costcodle Unlimited is the endless version of Costcodle, the Costco price guessing game. Instead of one product a day, you get a random product from the Costcodle archive every round, and you can keep playing as long as you like.
The daily game gives you one puzzle and then makes you wait until midnight. That's part of the fun, but one round a day isn't much practice. Unlimited takes every past daily product and lets you play them back to back. There's no account, no download and no cap on rounds, and it runs in any phone or desktop browser.
The rules are the same as in the daily game:
Two things work a little differently. Reloading the page brings back your unfinished round, so you can't skip a hard product by refreshing. And today's daily product never shows up here, so practicing won't spoil the main puzzle.
Say the product is Yummy Dino Buddies Chicken Nuggets, a 5 lb bag. That's frozen food in a bulk size, so the median is a fair place to start.
That's a 3/6, and the second guess is where it was won. A yellow up arrow on $10 means $10 is within 25% of the real price, so the price can't be higher than about $13.33. That makes $13 a guess near the ceiling, and the down arrow it got squeezed the answer into a $3 window. From there, one guess in the middle was enough.
You can do the same math on any yellow hint. Once you have one guess that's too low and one that's too high, keep splitting the gap until you're inside the 5% window. Most rounds take three or four guesses this way, which leaves a couple spare for the products that really surprise you.
Daily Costcodle is one shared puzzle per day, the same for everyone. That's what makes it work in a group chat: everyone is guessing the same item and nobody gets an easier one. Unlimited is the opposite. Every round is a random pick, so the person next to you is almost certainly guessing something else.
Most people play the daily first and switch over afterwards. When you finish today's puzzle, the Unlimited button on the end screen brings you straight here.
The pool is every daily product from the first Costcodle on September 21, 2023 up to yesterday. That's more than 1,100 items, and it grows by one every day. Each round is drawn at random, so now and then you'll land on a product you've already seen.
Here's what the pool looks like:
Most rounds are grocery staples: cheese, coffee, nuts, meat, snacks and frozen food. The rare expensive ones are grills, TVs, furniture and backyard playsets, and you'll spot those from the photo.
Unlimited is where you build a feel for Costco pricing. A few habits help:
After a few dozen rounds, categories start to repeat: bags of nuts, bulk coffee, blocks of cheese, frozen meals. Once you remember roughly what one of them costs, the next one gets a lot easier, and that's what turns a 4/6 into a 2/6 on the daily.
Unlimited keeps its own record in your browser: games played, win rate, current streak, best streak and how many guesses each win took. Tap the chart icon at the top of the page, or open the Unlimited stats page.
Your streak goes up with every product you solve and resets when you use all 6 guesses without getting within 5%. Since you can play as many rounds as you like, a long streak here takes real skill, not just showing up every day. Stats are stored locally, so clearing site data or switching devices starts you from zero.
Press Share when a round ends. You get the same emoji grid as the daily game, headed with "Costcodle Unlimited" and the puzzle number, so friends can tell it apart from a daily result. The grid shows your arrows and colors but never the product or the price. On a phone, Share opens your share sheet. On a computer it copies the result and a link to your clipboard.
